Course Description
Public Health is a dynamic field that considers health and disease from the perspective of populations and promotes and protects the health of all people and their communities. This course introduces the disciplines of community and public health. Students have an opportunity to gain an understanding of the concepts and terminologies of public health, the history and accomplishments of public health, social determinants of health and health disparities among various populations; the epidemiology of infectious and chronic disease; strategies for eliminating disease; community organizing; professions and organizations; environmental health and safety; global health; and healthcare policy and management.
